Course Description:
This workshop is designed to enrich the health professional’s understanding of how herbs can be used for perinatal wellness, lactation, and infant digestive issues. Plant medicine around the world has traditionally been an important part of postpartum care for parents and babies. In this workshop, we will cover herbal resources, safety and personalized herbal care strategies. We will discuss milk production and perinatal endocrine concerns such as thyroid health, glycemic issues, mood concerns and their impact on lactation, adrenal support, and more. Botanical medicine for babies will focus on digestive concerns and useful care strategies. This course will provide learners with a solid foundation in critical thinking about herbal selection, safety and contraindications, resources for clinical practice and dosing strategies. The workshop size will be kept small so that learners can really immerse themselves into the material. There will also be plenty of time for case review, discussion and connection!
