“Nutrition First presents its annual “Advances in Lactation Support” Conference on September 17 in Yakima, and on September 18 in South Seattle. This one-day training is perfect for those who have been working with breastfeeding families and are ready to expand their repertoire of skills and knowledge. It will also offer participants the unique opportunity to think about and make important connections to increase community support for breastfeeding.

We are overjoyed to be able to welcome Marsha Walker, RN, IBCLC to Washington State! Marsha is a highly influential and internationally recognized advocate, author and speaker. Marsha will discuss the critical components of a supportive breastfeeding community, getting us all thinking about the microenvironment of the infant gut in her riveting talk, “Just One Bottle Won’t Hurt, or Will it? Assault on the Infant Microbiome.”

Melissa Cole, IBCLC, RLC will return to the conference by popular demand! Her expertise in providing comprehensive, holistic lactation support will empower participants as they seek to improve their clinical lactation skills.

A certificate of attendance will be presented to all attendees and continuing professional education credits will be offered for RDs and IBCLCs (pending approval.)
