Oral Function: Assessment and Comprehensive Care for the Pre-Crawling Infant

This intensive workshop is designed for health professionals involved in the care of the pre-crawling infant. The course is designed to enhance the care provider’s understanding, assessment and management of oral function issues as they impact infant feeding and development. We will have case studies, interactive virtual activities, group work, discussion time, and more. Melissa and Michelle will help you level-up your assessment and clinical care techniques when it comes to supporting babies coping with compromised oral function and complex feeding challenges.
Who should attend?
Any provider that wishes to become a more skilled clinician when working with pre-crawling infants! Body workers, lactation consultants, pediatricians, physical/occupational therapists, nurses, registered dieticians, speech-language pathologists, and any care team member working with pre-crawling infants should consider attending. IBLCE continuing education credits included.
Melissa Cole MS, IBCLC is a board-certified lactation consultant, neonatal oral-motor assessment professional and clinical herbalist in private practice. Melissa is passionate about providing comprehensive, holistic lactation support and improving the level of clinical lactation skills for health professionals. She enjoys researching and writing, especially on topics such tongue tie and botanical medicine.
Michelle Emanuel, OTR/L is an Occupational therapist specializing in neurodevelopment, manual therapy and autonomic nervous system regulation for the precrawling baby. She teaches several professional classes and has developed a curriculum for making tummy time enjoyable and therapeutic for babies and families. Her expertise in oral motor has developed by assessing and treatment babies in the NICU and outpatient arenas.
Note: includes 10.5 L-CERPs (CEUs) and 1.5 R-CERPs from IBLCE. Many professional organizations accept IBLCE CEUs. In the past chiropractors, naturopaths, midwives, etc have been able to use our IBLCE-granted CEUs. Please check with your organization to see if you can count IBLCE CEUs towards your own continuing education credits and let us know if you have any questions.
Three-date series: September 10, 17 and 24 (10am-2pm Pacific Time, 1-5pm Eastern Time)
Cost: $350 USD (12 IBLCE CERPs included)
Cancellation and Refund Policy – A full refund (minus paypal fees) will be provided if cancellation is requested before 30 days of the event. If you need to cancel your registration within 14-30 days of the event, we will refund you 50% of your registration. Refunds will not be provided if cancellation occurs 0-14 prior to the event. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact us ASAP to discuss options.
If the workshop has been cancelled or rescheduled due to COVID-19, no refund can be issued at this time. A future class credit will be offered, and some classes will be offered in online formats in the future.
